The spectacular Macy's July 4th fireworks display is a New York tradition - and it has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated. If the prospect of elbowing through the crowds along FDR Drive doesnÕt appeal, check out the many other viewing options available.

July 4th New England Clam Bake with Live Jazz @ Body by Brooklyn, 275 Park Ave. (btwn Washington & Waiverly), 718.923.9400, www.www.bodybybrooklyn.com. The only fourth of July event in town where bathrobes are required! Slip on a bathrobe, enjoy the use of the spa's facilities then join us in the candle lit lounge for cocktails, a sumptuous and great LIVE Jazz. Spa facilities; Turkish Steam room, Sweedish & Russian Saunas, Jacuzzi and Artic Cold Plunge Pool. Target First Saturdays: Viva Africa! @ Brooklyn Museum

At the Brooklyn Museum's Target First Saturdays, thousands of visitors enjoy free programs of art and entertainment each month from 5Š11 p.m. All evening long, the Museum Cafˇ serves a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, and beverages, and a cash bar offers wine and beer. Parking is a flat rate of $4 starting at 5pm. All other Saturdays, the Museum closes at 6pm. Programs are subject to change. Please note that due to limited capacities, some Target First Saturday programs require tickets. Ticket lines often form 30 minutes before ticket distribution at the Visitor Center located in the Rubin Lobby. Free ticket distribution does not apply to © Murakami. Those tickets may be purchased at the Visitor Center.

Movies With A View: Stand By Me @ Brooklyn Bridge Park, (Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park section), 718-802-0603 x12, www.brooklynbridgepark.org. Tonight's Movie is "Stand By Me" as the Conservancy's most popular event returns for its ninth year! Movies With A View is one of the city's premiere outdoor film series with an eclectic line-up of films and breathtaking views of the NYC waterfront. The films are chosen by an all-volunteer Film Committee and each feature is preceded by a Short film. DJs from Brooklyn Radio kick off the evening, spinning tunes as the sun sets, and Rice sells delicious dinners onsite. Bike valet provided by Transportation Alternatives.

4th Annual Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival in DUMBO, (Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park section of Brooklyn Bridge Park), 718-802-0603 x12, www.brooklynbodega.com. Brooklyn Bodega returns to celebrate Hip Hop music, culture and Brooklyn as a premier cultural destination. Enjoy family activities and BBQ from 12pm-4pm, as a DJ spins tunes to set the atmosphere.
